Advocacy & Public Policy

LeadingAge Georgia remains in the front of the public policy issues facing the spectrum of aging. As a member, you should expect the best in advocacy. We deliver on that promise by working extensively with legislators, legislative staff, developing relationships with like minded organizations, and engaging our members in grassroots contacts with legislators. The same can be seen nationally as you are represented and informed on key legislative developments in Congress.

Advocate for common goals with other LeadingAge Georgia and LeadingAge national members and increase the strength of your single voice and maximize your influence on the state and national level. You will receive timely legislative updates, member alerts and other special communications.

Leadership & Networking

Connect with your colleagues locally by attending network meetings (Forums) for professional areas such as Activity Professionals, Service Coordinators, Maintenance, Marketing and Wellness staff.  Forums for Assisted Living, HUD Housing, CCRC/CPC and Adult Day Services also meet. These meetings provide a vital link between member, association leadership and staff, and an opportunity for education, networking and fellowship.  Guest speakers are featured on a regular basis and continuing education credits are offered.

Professional Development

The Georgia Institute on Aging, our education arm, offers training and educational opportunities that meet the diverse information needs of professionals in the aging services field while fostering an environment for networking and shared learning.

Participate in web-based, audio and in-person educational programs. Learn daily operational needs, future challenges and trends that allow you to accumulate CEU hours in an affordable member rate.

Members may participate in our Leadership Academy (leadership development program) in order to develop and maintain quality staff in our field. As a member, you also have the opportunity to serve on the professional development committee and/or the Institute Board of Directors and task groups to contribute to the direction of the Institute and its educational planning.

The LeadingAge Savings and Solutions Center is a team of regionally focused LeadingAge staff dedicated to helping members save money, find solutions and streamline purchasing. LeadingAge Recognized Insurance Program

Association Services administers the LeadingAge Insurance Programs that are available to the entire continuum of aging service providers at reduced minimum premiums and through service specific underwriting guidelines. The Choice Model allows providers and brokers to choose from two A-rated carriers, Chartis and CNA. Additional savings are offered through an online risk management program, The Aon Quality Institute, and there is a potential dividend payment.
