Campbell-Stone (www.campbellstone.org), a senior adult, affordable apartment community with locations in Buckhead and Sandy Springs, is looking for a part-time chaplain to direct its chaplain ministries at both campuses.
Responsibilities include:
• Provide counseling and spiritual guidance to residents.
• Conduct memorial services and other religious services and oversee Vespers on Sundays.
• *Supervise student chaplain interns from Candler School of Theology at Emory University.
• Visit with residents of Campbell-Stone in various settings.
• Promote stewardship of financial giving and volunteer participation among residents, families and the faith community.
• Lead, coordinate or supervise spiritual life groups that may include prayer, Bible studies, grief support.
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in religion, pastoral counseling, divinity, or theology from an accredited seminary or graduate school.
• Two-plus years of experience as clergy or chaplain.
• Ordained clergy in good standing.
• CPE or other specific pastoral care training recommended but not required.
*Campbell-Stone is an educational ministry partner with Emory University’s Candler School of Theology. In this partnership, first year seminarians have weekly involvement in a community ministry setting. The Campbell-Stone Director of Chaplain Ministries supervises student involvement on site and, at the discretion of the Candler Contextual Education Director, facilitates a weekly reflection group with students. This reflection group facilitation is not counted as part of the Director’s Campbell-Stone compensated time since it is covered by a modest stipend from Emory.
